About Julie
Julie's creative practice is varied. In her twenties her art knitting was eclipsed by animation as it offered a way to bring to life her research into unsung aspects about women in pre-history. The result,“Double X” won awards in Fiction and Documentary categories of international festivals. This led Julie into script writing for live action, long form drama and documentary projects.
An unexpected life event redirected her trajectory into digital technology. Julie taught in TAFE and undertook a Masters degree in Fine Arts. Now Julie draws on all these creative engagements, influences and skills, especially digital media as well as her first love; textiles and paint.
Julie draws inspiration from the natural world, the body's wisdoms and the feminine force in culture and art.
